The Ric Blair Band delivers another fine collection of original songs, traditional Irish tunes and scripture meditations. With guests Phil Keaggy and Sheila Walsh, this is Celtic music at its most inspired. Fields Of Freedom is an artistically produced collection of hymns, Irish instrumentals, and scripture meditations all enveloped in the atmospheric sounds of Celtic instrumentation like uilleann pipes, tin whistle and fiddle. Blair pours every ounce of emotion he has into singing songs like Just As I Am, He Leadeth Me and Be Thou My Vision and on the latter he's joined by Phil Keaggy who contributes some vocals. Keaggy also plays on Blair's original composition Alleluia. Sheila Walsh is also involved in the project reading some excellent scripture meditations that are weaved into the fabric of the album. Overall this is a delight for fans of Celtic music.
