This beautiful CD of classical Wedding Music is played by the Budapest Strauss Ensemble conducted by Istvan Bogar with Bertalan Hock playing the organ.
A radiant bride walks slowly down the aisle to join her future husband at the altar, and almost inevitably one of two familiar, stirring tunes will be heard from the church organ.
Both of these tunes, by Mendelssohn and Wagner, are here to open our nuptial programme, followed by other stately favourites often associated with the celebration of marriage. Then comes a mostly quiet, reflective selection of Baroque pieces by Albinoni, Vivaldi and J. S. Bach, before the occasion is consummated by the romantic lilt of two great Strauss waltzes.
